Gutter Services in The Village of Rio Grande

Rio Grande’s homes went up mostly in 1993 and 1994, which makes it one of the oldest villages in District 1, less than a mile from Spanish Springs Town Square. We repair, replace and guard gutters here, and a state-licensed home and building inspector is on every job. Call or text (352) 440-3310.

More Than 30 Years on the Same Hangers

Most Rio Grande homes were built in 1993 and 1994. The village sits east of Morse Blvd, less than a mile from Spanish Springs Town Square, and The Villages describes it as right in the middle of three country clubs: Tierra del Sol, Hacienda Hills and Chula Vista. The homes are single-family, a mix of concrete block and frame with vinyl siding.

Any gutter that is still original here has been through more than 30 Florida rainy seasons. That is well past the point where the parts that hold it together start to quit. End caps loosen and drip. Seams at the corners open up. Hangers back out of the fascia a little at a time, the run tips, and the water stops reaching the downspout and goes over the front instead. Many homes this age have had a new roof along the way, too, and a gutter taken down for roofers does not always go back up the way it came off.

The question we answer on most Rio Grande calls is repair or replace. If the aluminum is straight and sound and the trouble is a few loose hangers and a leaking end cap, we fix those and you keep the gutter. If seams are failing in several places, or the run has been patched over and over, new .032 aluminum rolled on site with a hanger every two feet will outlast another round of patches by a long way.

Do You Need ARC Approval for Gutters in Rio Grande?

Rio Grande is in District 1, and the current District 1 Architectural Review manual (revised August 2026) says ARC approval is not required for gutters and downspouts on homes, courtyard villas and patio villas. You still need to match the look of the neighborhood, and anything beyond gutters and downspouts goes through review first.

Rules get revised, so we check the current manual before we start. If your project needs an application, we say so up front and help you put it together. The manuals are posted on the District Government Community Standards page.

What We Do in Rio Grande

Here is what we do for Rio Grande homes.

An old gutter with a dripping end cap and water stains running down the fascia board, Rio Grande
Before: an old gutter with a dripping end cap and water stains running down the fascia board.
A new white gutter with a fresh end cap and hangers on a clean fascia board, Rio Grande
After: a new white gutter with a fresh end cap and hangers on a clean fascia board.

On Frame Homes, Overflow Goes After the Fascia

A good share of Rio Grande homes are frame with vinyl siding. Vinyl shrugs off water, but the fascia board behind the gutter does not. When an old gutter overflows, or drips from a loose seam at the same spot storm after storm, the water runs down the back of the gutter and onto the board. Over the years that shows up as peeling paint, dark streaks and soft wood that a hanger screw can no longer grip.

That is why we press on the fascia before we quote. If it is solid, a new or rehung gutter goes right back on. If it is soft, it gets repaired first, because hanging a gutter on rotten wood just starts the cycle over. Catching it while it is one soft section is far easier than finding it after it has spread along the whole eave.

How a Rio Grande Job Works

1. Call, text or book

Call or text (352) 440-3310 or book online. Tell us what you are seeing: overflow at a corner, a run that sags, water at the slab, or just the leaves. If it is a mystery leak, we offer a $100 diagnostic visit that is credited toward the work.

2. The inspector looks

Jeff checks every hanger, seam and end cap on these 30-year-old gutters, presses on the fascia for soft spots, and sorts out which runs can be repaired and which need replacing. Then you get a straight answer, including when the right call is a cleaning or a small repair and nothing else.

3. We build it once

Seamless .032 aluminum rolled on site, hangers every two feet, 316L stainless mesh where it earns its keep and solid PVC carrying water out about five feet from the house. Then we clean up, walk it with you and stand behind it with our lifetime no-clog guard warranty.

Meet the Owner: Jeff Ours

Premium Leaf Guards is run by Jeff Ours, a state-licensed home and building inspector and court-recognized construction expert with more than twenty years in the trade. He is on every job and does about half of every install himself.

That matters in Rio Grande, where the homes are old enough that hidden fascia damage is a real possibility. Jeff is licensed to inspect homes, so he finds the soft wood before a new gutter gets screwed into it, not after.

“The system is only as good as the installer. I like money, but I don’t try to sell you something you don’t need.”

Rio Grande Gutter Questions

Rio Grande is in District 1, and the current Architectural Review manual says ARC approval is not required for gutters and downspouts on homes, courtyard villas and patio villas. The manual does not mention gutter guards by name, and anything beyond gutters and downspouts goes through review, so we check the current manual for your project before we start.

Not necessarily. Aluminum lasts a long time. The hangers, end caps and seams are what wear out. If the trough itself is straight and sound, tightening or replacing hangers and resealing the joints can give it more years. If it leaks in several places, replacing it is the better use of your money.

Usually. We look for peeling paint, dark streaks and gaps between the gutter and the board, then press on the wood at each hanger. Soft spots give. If we find rot, we show you before anything is quoted, and the board gets fixed before a gutter goes back on it.

Away from the slab and not into your neighbor’s yard. Solid PVC underground drainage can carry the water about five feet out to a pop-up emitter in the lawn. We do not use black corrugated pipe, because it crushes, traps debris and is hard to clear.

Yes. Plenty of older homes here have gutters on some edges and not others. If the back eave is the one splashing the siding or soaking the slab, a single run with a downspout and an underground drain can be the whole job. We only quote the edges that need it.

It depends on the length of your roof line, the number of corners and downspouts, and whether you add guards or underground drainage. We price every job all in and the estimate is free. Call or text (352) 440-3310 and we will come look.
